PNEUMA is an ancient Greek word for "breath", and in a religious context for "spirit" or "soul". This project nails a vivid reminder to us that being a human is not bound to the physical being. We are one word, we are "one spark beyond this flesh".
The choreographic goal in this project follows the continuation of Luana Rossetti's previous funded choreographic researches, in developing a new artistic and communicative language to translate natural psychosomatic movements into dance.
With the plasticity choice of the mise en scène, Luana develops evocative scenes reveal social constraints we are striking to free ourselves from, as well as emotional resistance; nevertheless Luana's mark remains the Oeniric representation with a highly physical movement's vocabulary.
Pneuma creates spaces to explore fundamental questions related to subjective existence with intrinsic value. Mainly based on the interaction between strength and delicacy of the performers' bodies, Luana allows a whole range of imaginary to rise, discovering new forms of expression in the endless body landscape, focusing on the importance of both, solos and partnering work, seeking diverse images and perceptions.
